Mark's Stag-do on 24th September 2002

I travelled down on the Friday with Ian, John(athon), and Sean to Brighton ----------long trip. We then met Mark and, as usual, immediately went off to Hove Place ( Pub - 100yds up road away from sea). There we met up with Jeff ( Mark,s best man) and David Allerton and partners Kerry and Caroline. After several hours we headed off to an Indian for a good meal before retiring. Early start on Saturday with us all ( exc partners) to Mac's Cafe ( renowned in Brighton) for a PROPER breakfast before heading off to the Go-Kart race track.

There we donned our overalls before posing for the Photies

The racing duly commenced with Mark immediately proving that his Kart was by far the fastest or something like that. The following photograph illustrates the excellent outdoor course and several members of the group keenly racing round the last bend. I could guess that they are John(athon), Ian and Sean - but it really would be a guess. As you can see the speed was phenomenal --------------

At the end of an excellent hour of racing between most of us and the odd sight of Mark passing us or Jonathon causing another major !!!!!Craaaaaaaaaaash ( In fact I think Mark had an agreement with John(athon) to stop the rest of us from winning) ----------the winners were announced and awarded significant trophies and a group photo taken.

We then raced off to Newhaven to catch the ferry and, of course the first pint of the many pints

The camera was then stashed and the journey to Dieppe passed very quickly and comfortably with some members needing some rest and recuperation. After a 3 mile walk through Dieppe we found our excellent hotel and then set out for some food and drink. We ended up in a Yugoslav restaurant !!!!!!!! which turned out to be very good and returned to enter the Casino. Unfortunately the doormen took some exception to our casual dress and refused entry. Barry ( Snell not Lal) offered to distract the minders so that we could stroll in UNNOTICED. However since Barry was hors-de -combat following a significant fall at work we recommended that we returned to the hotel and drank there. At about 3:00 the barmen closed the bar ( Barry volunteered to SORT them out) and we retired except Mark and Ian who went for a swim and Barry decided he wanted to renew his acquaintance with the doormen at the Casino ( Jeff went with all three to ensure nothing went wrong.)

A QUIET breakfast was had by all and we headed back for the boat and Brighton posing briefly at the marina in Dieppe for the usual

An excellent time was had by all
